Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Donovan! He is about 5 years old (as estimated by animal control and the initial vet that saw him at intake) and roughly 8 pounds. Donovan is one of the dogs that were picked up in Turkey Point in the fall of 2024.
He has been updated on all of his shots, neutered and has been given a dental.
He has settled well into his foster home and is now ready for adoption.
Donovan gets along with both adults and well mannered kids but can also get shy at some points but after a couple of sniffs he will warm up to you. He needs time to get to know his people and after he has his time he will get very close with you. Please keep in mind wil will take some time for him to warm up to you but after a little time he will calm down and become best friends with you as time goes on. Donovan is crate trained and is very quiet when he is in there. Donovan has good potty manners and pees and poops on his pee pad when he has to use the bathroom, he doesn't usually like going outside to pee. In the nicer weather he will enjoy the outside to sunbathe. He is not yet leash trained, so a secure fenced yard is required.
He is good with stairs and goes up and down them well. He can be high energy when he wants to. He is not overly barky unless he hears another dog bark. Because he is a chihuahua and from a history that we don’t know a whole lot about, he is still learning to trust humans and comes across quite fearful.
Donovan can be a friendly dog who will wag his tail when he sees you and gets so excited to see new people but can be shy when he first meets you. He needs a loving adopter who will play with him and be patient with him.
He enjoys playing with his toys and appreciates a lot of attention. This little guy needs a caring adopter who will engage him with toys and give him all the cuddles he deserves. Another dog (that is chill and good with other dogs) in the home is necessary.
He absolutely loves cheese and treats more than anything! He needs a patient adopter that will give him time to adapt to his new surroundings and give him the love that he deserves.
