My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Rustco arrived:
This dog was brought in by a Good Samaritan on 12/4/24.

At SDHS:
Rustco has been vaccinated and microchipped.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Rustco, a handsome Shepherd, seeks a loving and patient home where he can flourish. Shepherds are known for their loyalty and intelligence, but they require proper training and socialization to become well-behaved companions. As an active breed, Rustco will thrive with regular exercise and mental stimulation. Grooming and routine veterinary care are essential for his well-being. A spacious and secure environment would suit him best, and a family willing to invest time and commitment to his needs will undoubtedly form a strong bond with this magnificent dog. If you're ready for a long-term and rewarding relationship, consider giving This fur baby the home he deserves!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
