Meet Socks!

Say hello to our adorable senior Shih Tzu, Socks! At approximately 12-13 years old, this sweet boy is on a mission to find his forever home where he can shower his new family with love and snuggles. Socks is the epitome of low maintenance—his favorite activities include basking in the sun, catching up on his beauty sleep, and indulging in belly rubs and tasty treats!

Socks is a gentle soul who thrives on companionship, so he’s looking for someone who will be around to share those precious moments. He’s house trained and prefers regular outdoor adventures to keep him happy and accident-free. While he isn’t the chatty type, he does enjoy the occasional stroll around the yard and would love a helping hand with stairs now and then.

This lovable fluffball is neutered, vaccinated, and has even had a dental, making him ready for his new adventure! Socks came into rescue when his beloved mom passed away, and unfortunately, his family didn’t want him and took him to the vet to be euthanized. Luckily, the vet called PPAR, and we were able to bring him into our care to help him find a loving forever home.

Socks has experience mingling with both kids and dogs, making him a perfect fit for a family looking to add a little joy to their lives. While he hasn’t met any cats yet, we believe he has the heart to make friends!

More about this rescue

We have a passion for senior animals. To be able to save an animal from dying alone in a shelter, to give it a chance to live out its last days/months/years in a home with the proper care and love it deserves, instead of a cold shelter, is what drives us to keep going.

We obviously have financial needs that come with rescuing senior dogs, so we will be rescuing puppies and younger dogs as well so we are able to care for our seniors.
