Marlin and Thunder are a bonded pair of 1-1.5 year old female rats. Marlin came to us when her owner could not keep her anymore. She is a spayed female who was living with several male rats, who started getting territorial over her so she was separated to keep the peace. Thunder was found abandoned in a small cage with 42 other rats, including her babies. Her babies are weaned and she is ready to find her new family!
Marlin and Thunder became friends at the rescue. Thunder was being pushed around by the other rats in her group and has some scars on her face from biting. Despite this, she is a sweet girl and is much happier now living with gentle Marlin.
Marlin is a little friendlier than Thunder, but Thunder is learning from her! They will sniff your hands and with some coaxing and patience will take treats from you. They spend a lot of their time snuggling in their sputnik. With time and patience, these older ladies will learn to trust and love you. They are pretty easy to pick up, but don't love it. They have done well during free roam time on the couch.
They can stay as a pair, or join an existing mischief of rats- just watch out that Thunder doesn't get pushed around!
We are able to meet within 1 hour of Minneapolis, MN. Potentially further- please inquire and we can discuss!
