My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: Greensburg, PA

Hi friends! My name is Rocky. I'm a 10 month old blue heeler mix (maybe some border collie)? I'm a very fun, energetic boy and am extremely food motivated.  I love to jump and run and play with other dogs. I am super smart and learn tricks very fast. I am house trained and crate trained, too!

I would love to have a family of my own with my very own yard to run and play in.  A playful dog friend would be ideal, too.
From the foster home: Rocky is a goofy boy but is very smart. A fenced in yard is preferred but not required. He loves to run around and play and will keep himself entertained as well! He can be jumpy and mouthy when he is overstimulated so he'll need continued training and structure. Dog savvy kids 8 and up should be fine. He loves meeting new people and dogs and is all around a very good boy.  I think he would love agility and/ or fast cat if his forever home was into dog sports. Otherwise I am sure he would enjoy hiking and exploring with his people.

Rocky is up to date on age appropriate vaccines and will be neutered on 1/21. He will be ready to go to his new home on 2/5  (maybe slightly sooner).

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
