PEE WEE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:   Pee Wee        Best Guess for Breed:  Terrier/basset hound mix

Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of Jan 2025         SEX:   male

Approximate Weight:  33 lbs

Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen Pee Wee with cats or kids, but he can be tested. Due to his shy nature, Pee Wee must go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog.

Special Adoption Considerations: Because Pee Wee is shy, he needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. We would be cautious placing Pee Wee in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.

Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter. Pee Wee needs a foster or forever home to make his way up to the DC area!

Cole is Looking For:  This sweet little guy is looking for his forever home. He promises he won't take up too much space! Through no fault of his own, Pee Wee arrived at the shelter in South Carolina with his friends Cole and Socks. Now he's looking for a fresh start in the DC area. Pee Wee is out of his youngest puppy days but still has lots of zest for life. He's looking forward to lots of walks, runs, or hikes, as well as plenty of trips to the dog park so he can build up his confidence when making new friends. Pee Wee also can't wait to give obedience school a try so he can learn some tricks and good manners. Most of all, Pee Wee just wants a safe home where he knows he will be loved and cared for all of his days.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
