My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lola

Lola`s journey has brought her full circle. Originally adopted from FMAR as a kitten, she was recently surrendered back to us when her owner faced health challenges and could no longer care for her. Understandably, Lola is feeling a bit lost and unsure of her surroundings.

This sweet girl has been spending much of her time hiding, but don’t let that fool you—once you take the time to get on her level and show her some love, she melts right into your hands, revealing the affectionate cat she truly is. Lola just needs a patient and loving home where she can come out of her shell at her own pace.

Lola is also front-declawed, so she’ll need a safe indoor-only home where she can feel secure. She’s in need of a little help to regain her healthiest self as well. Lola has put on a bit of extra weight and needs to lose about 6 pounds to feel her best and comfortably groom herself again. In fact, we had to shave her back when she first returned because she couldn’t reach it on her own.

With time, love, and a bit of support on her weight-loss journey, Lola is sure to blossom into the confident, cuddly companion she’s meant to be. Could you be the one to help her write the next chapter of her story?

FMAR felines are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated for age-appropriate shots, and negative for FIV/FeLV. Lola is also front declawed, so she will need to be strictly an indoor cat!

More about this shelter

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter comprised mostly of volunteers. We take in cats and dogs from local shelters and the public who can no longer care for their pets. Each of the volunteers at FMAR has a tremendous amount of love for animals and simply wants to do what they can to ensure that as many animals as possible find a forever home. Until then, each animal has a home at FMAR indefinitely.
