My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apply to Adopt Me!

Age: 5 Months Old

Gender: Female

Breed: Shepherd Mix

Weight: 28 lbs

Personality: Ivy is a curious, confident puppy who adores her people and thrives on attention. She’s eager to learn and would shine with trick training. She loves walks, adventures, and mental enrichment like puzzles to keep her sharp and happy. She brings joy with her puppy antics and is very attuned to her human without being clingy. Ivy is comfortable in new environments and around distractions.

Education: Ivy is potty, crate, place, and leash trained.

Favorite Activities: She loves playing fetch and already knows how to get, bring, and drop. Ivy thrives on mental stimulation and learning, making her a fantastic companion for a home interested in continuing her training. Ivy is a great travel companion as she stays close to her bonded human, and does really well in the car. She loves to rub up on your legs like a cat, and will flop to her belly requesting pets. She loves to cuddle on the couch or the bed and likes it when you read to her.

Looking for: Ivy would thrive in almost any lifestyle, provided her physical and mental needs are met. Smart and active, Ivy is eager to learn and explore. As a puppy, she’s kid-friendly but would benefit from supervision around young children. Ivy would be happy as a solo dog or with a companion, given proper introductions. She's ready to be your loyal sidekick and brighten your life!

Adoption Fee: My adoption fee is $500 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
