My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Start your own happily ever after with this magical gal!

Greetings! My name is Fae, and I’m a 10-month-old, 33-pound terrier mix with a heart full of magic. I come from the mystical land of Los Adoptables in Ensenada, and I’m on a quest to find my furever home!

At first glance, I may seem like a shy sprite, especially around men—I need a bit of time to warm up to new faces. When I first arrived, I was so scared of my foster dad that I would disappear, but with a little patience (and some gentle encouragement), I now run to him and snuggle up like I’ve known him forever! My magic takes time to unfold, but trust me, it’s worth the wait!

One thing’s for sure—I adore other dogs. Big, small, young, or wise—I love them all and feel most at ease when I have furry friends to play and learn from. I  gain confidence by following my pack. I also love children and have been wonderfully gentle with little ones, from tiny babes to playful toddlers! Cats? Well, I haven’t met one yet, but with my enchanting energy… I might be a bit much for them.

I thrive in a playful environment. Running outside, chasing squeaky toys, and snuggling after a day of exploring are my favorite! I’m already crate trained and fully potty trained with a doggy door—pretty impressive if I don’t say so myself! I can be left in my cozy crate with no accidents. But like any young fairy, if I don’t get enough playtime and exercise, I might get into a bit of mischief. I’m still learning my leash manners (I get so excited for walks!), but with guidance, I’ll have it down in no time.

Why should you take me under your wing? Because I’m a tiny treasure with a spirit that’s just waiting to soar. I’m the pawfect mix of snuggly and spunky. With a little patience, I promise to repay you with endless loyalty and affection. I’m the ideal size for all your adventures, whether you live in an apartment or have a mystical garden.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a touch of fairy magic, I might just be the one to sprinkle joy into your life!

My adoption fee is $500 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
