A Little Bit About Me

Alison is a senior Tortie looking for a cat savvy home. This pretty girl will be happy to jump in the lap of a cat experienced guardian and hang out, but she has limits on how much petting she wants. She is serious about being the only cat in the home. Alison does not want to live with or see other cats. However, Alison has lived with dogs and did well with them. This independent girl spent much of her time outside on the property in her previous home, but, being a senior, she may appreciate the comforts of a warm house more now than in the past. Alison also absolutely loves playtime--you'd think she's a youngster from her speed, agility, and stamina during wand toy play. She is a SUPERB toy mouse hunter! Alison was truly loved in her previous home of ten years. She is social and affectionate, but likes things on her terms. More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
