KRAMPUS NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Come meet Krampus and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (01/26) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!
Name: Krampus Best Guess for Breed: Lab mix
Best Guess for Age: 5 months as of 1/19/25 SEX: Male
Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 17 lbs as of 1/09/25
Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Krampus lives with a dog and cats in his foster home and does well with both - he is very gentle.
Currently Living at: DC area foster home.
Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.
Krampus is Looking For: Howdy! I'm Krampus just because I landed in the shelter around the winter holidays and all the cutesy Christmas names had already been assigned to other pups. Not cool. So, lets start off with a name change!
And I'd also like long sniffy walks and romps in parks and to explore the world by your side - and make more pup pals along the way. I want to test all the toys too. And to go to dog school so I can show you how super smart I am.
What My Foster Says About Me: Krampus is a sweet boy who loves to play with toys and cuddle. He enjoys playing tug and shows an interest in playing ball. He is gentle with his humans when playing. He shows interest in playing with resident dog but is timid about it since there is a 70-pound weight difference. He is respectful when resident dog signals that he is done being played with or when he needs space. Krampus is also living with two cats. He is curious about the cats and wants to play with them but is not aggressive and can be easily distracted from them. He shares space with them frequently and ignores them.
He has learned sit, down, and touch, and is now working on 'paw' and 'wait'. Krampus slept through the night in his crate after crying for approximately 5 minutes. He has spent time in his crate during the day and done well. Krampus enjoys playing outside and exploring although he has not had an opportunity to go for walks due to his current vaccination status. He's also making good progress with house training!
Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.
Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
