My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

About Dorothy:
Dorothy is a sweet, playful, and goofy pup with a big heart and lots of energy. She was adopted to be a companion to a senior dog but, unfortunately, hasn’t been the right fit for the household due to her specific needs.
Dorothy has separation anxiety and would thrive in a home where her owner has the time and experience to help her manage it, or where she doesn’t have to be kenneled for extended periods. She loves her humans and shows her affection by being incredibly cuddly and listening well. She’s also learned a few tricks, which she’s eager to show off!
Ideal Home:
  • Dorothy would do best as the only dog in the home, as she has moments of aggression toward the older dog she currently lives with.
  • She needs an active household that can keep up with her playful nature but also appreciates her lazy moments when she’s happy to chew on a bone.
  • A family or individual who can dedicate time to working on her leash skills, managing her separation anxiety.
Personality and Traits:
  • Energetic and playful but also loves quiet time with a chew toy or bone.
  • Affectionate and cuddly with people, forming strong bonds with her humans.
  • Mostly potty trained but still has occasional accidents, so patience and consistency will be key as she continues to learn.
  • Can get into mischief when left unattended, so she’ll need supervision and redirection.
Other Notes:
Dorothy is still learning to walk well on a leash and could benefit from training to refine her skills. She gets along with the 12-year-old dog in her current home most of the time, but due to occasional aggression, she would be better suited to a home without other pets. She is up to date on all her shots and has a clean bill of health. She is also spayed.
If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, and loving companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your days with joy, Dorothy might just be your perfect match!
