Meet Maximus! This charming pup was found wandering the streets of Houston until he was picked up and brought to high euthanasia shelter. When a volunteer met him, she described him as a "mellow pup". Then he landed on the euthanasia shelter and we knew we needed to save him!
He settled right into his foster home and easily transitioned to the home life! He was crate trained from day 1 and almost 100% potty trained. His foster parents have a great routine to keep him on track! He loves going on walks around the neighborhood and picking up any stick he can find. But, you can always find him romping around the backyard as he is on squirrel patrol to protect his foster parents home!
He is learning all the cool things in his foster home, like "sit" and "come". He is learning lots of basic manners like loose leash walking & no jumping. He also gets the wiggles anytime he gets to meet new people! If he isn't outside playing then you can find him inside, playing with his lambchop stuffy or snuggled up on the couch. He loves all the typical pup things - bones, stuffed toys, and treats!
He is about 9 months old and about 40lbs but growing! We think he is part lab - as he is so curious and smart - and of course the cute ears! The best part about adopting a young pup is being able to have fun with training & creating a special bond. He is super dog & people friendly as well. He would definitely thrive at doggy daycare or dog park adventures.
