My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WAZOO! is being fostered in Rochester Hills MI

WAZOO! is a male black tri Mini American Shepherd or a Mini Australian Shepherd (depending on who you ask).  He was born on 11/14/2024.  He and his littermates The Conundrum litter, came into rescue because the breeder couldn't sell them and didn't want to feed them.  He is brave, curious, smart and super sweet and snuggly!  WAZOO is being fostered with other 4 legged foster siblings and does well with all of them!  Minis have a weight span between 20-40lbs fully grown.

He does great with everyone!  He is still such a baby that he is being exposed to the Rule of 12s in his foster home and that socialization tactic will need to continue in his forever home.  WAZOO! is doing GREAT with potty training and crate training!  He will need to stay on a schedule to be successful in his forever home.

If you have never had an Aussie or a working dog before, we recommend doing a little research before committing to this high energy working breed!  He will need a MINIMUM of 2-3 hours of exercise throughout the day.  He will also need someone home more than not at the beginning so he can potty train and he is still too young to be left alone for too long.

WAZOO! is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, is microchipped, dewormed and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.

NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
