My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Buddy! (Government name: Bourbon Bacon). Buddy has been an absolute sweetheart since he arrived in New York on 1/19. He is probably about 6 months - 1 year old and likely a mix of a Weimaraner, Lab, and maybe pit. If you wanted to adopt the sweetest boy, see below for his bio, photos, and videos. The application process is easy and Waldo's will help set up a meet & greet. Text me with any questions about Bourbon Bacon (Buddy) 3372548053

Personality & Characteristics: friendly, cuddly, playful, energetic, great at napping, coachable, so sweet, so great with other dogs, loves fetch and playing with his toys

My foster dog is good with: Dogs, Kids, Cats, even birds

My foster dog is: Crate trained, House trained, Low / no shed, a great day napper while I'm home working, very friendly with all dogs, kids, and even birds. Never snaps at anyone or anything, even if you get in his face and even if another dog snaps or barks first.

6 Keywords for your pup: friendly, curious, but smart, happy, loyal, very sweet

Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 6/7! More energetic in the mornings, but is calm when you're calm. Great at napping during the day, especially while I'm working or when he's in the crate. If you rile him up he might jump and little or nibble, but he never bites

Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: only barks when he hears other dogs bark through the apartment walls to try to talk to them. But I play music or podcasts so hallway noises startle him less when there's background noise

Walking Manners: he loves to greet everyone he meets! He's exceptionally friendly, but might need some training to walk in a straight line without going to say hi to everyone he passes

Appetite: normal, no issues, always hungry, no bathroom issues

Does the following: (Gets car sick, nervous outside, has separation anxiety, hates the bath, none of the above) none of the above! he was actually great and slept most of the way in the 4 hour car ride to Vermont. But he's good at being left alone and we've crate trained him.

Favorite Things: loves fetch and sitting on the floor nearby wherever you are (for example if you are cooking, he'll lay down in the kitchen while you cook, or if you're watching tv, he likes to be nearby). He likes to be in the same room as whoever's home.

Commands/Tricks: sit, stay, paw; we're working on rollover

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea.
