Meet Maverick: Maverick is a 14 week, 26 pound truly lucky puppy. He had guardian angels who saved him. Maverick was diagnosed with PRRA. PRRA is a condition where there is a band around his chest preventing his esophagus from functioning correctly and thus food was not getting into his stomach. The cure for PRRA is surgery. Maverick's guardian angels lead fundraising efforts and lots of folks donated to his cause. Maverick was able to have the surgery to fix his PRRA. Now Maverik is like any other big breed puppy full of life and puppy antics. HIs only restriction is he needs to eat wet dog food with a bit of water. Maverick does not need to be fed elevated.
Maverick is growing like a weed and thriving. He loves everybody, especially the smaller dogs in his foster home. LIke all puppies Maverick will need training and guidance to become a really super family dog. Maverick does need a home with another dog or two and he needs owners who have the time to train him and give him lots of love. Maverick is very active and would love to be involved in all the family adventures.
Maverick is a shepherd lab mix and will be a big dog when fully grown. Maverick is neutered, and vaccinated. Maverick’s adoption fee of $350 helps offset the cost of medical expenses as outlined above. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think he could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application .
Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.
