My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Salted Caramel is truly the definition of a gentle giant and the biggest mush. He is truly the easiest dog I've had. Happy to lay around all day and be with his people, but also will excuse himself to his bed for some alone time. He gets so excited to go on walks and could get belly rubs all day. For being such a big dog he is soo low maintenance. He would be a great addition to any house. He is SO CALM AND EASY.

Personality & Characteristics:
My foster dog is good with: Dogs of all sizes, people, and kids. I have yet to see him with a cat.
My foster dog is: House trained. Has yet to have an accident and good at indicating when he needs to go out.
3 Keywords for your pup: Gentle, Sweet, Calm
Energy Level: 2
Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Very quiet. I have heard him bark only once
Walking Manners: He is great on a leash. For being a big dog he doesn't pull at all unless he really doesn't want to go home, then he just needs a little encouragement.
Appetite: Moderate. Does better with a few small meals.
Does the following:  He doesn't like the bath but is ok with encouragement. Is ok with small stairs. Still needs to master large staircases.
Favorite Things: He loves walks, his bed, people and belly scratches.
Commands/Tricks: Doesn't seem to understand direct commands but is so easy, if you direct him he seems to understand.

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
