Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Helena is a pretty little Dachshund/Chihuahua mix. She is 4 years old and weighs 10 lbs.
She recently suffered a traumatic experience with a large breed dog, but her foster mom, dad and the tiny resident dog are helping her work through that. Helena needs adopters who will be patient while she continues to learn to trust people and become more confident. Helena has a sweet temperament and will be a great lap dog if given a little time to settle in. She may do better with another small companion dog. She tends to bark or howl when she gets upset, so she is not a good choice for apartment life. Kids over 10 may be ok, but she does need a quiet, low activity home. If you are interested in meeting sweet Helena, please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Additional adoption info
All potential adopters must fill out an application for the animal they want to adopt, which is available on our website. Humane Tomorrow does not do adoptions outside of the DFW Metroplex.
Our adoption fees are...
Cats:
$150 for most kittens and cats
Dogs:
$250-$300 for most puppies and dogs
The adoption fee helps to cover the costs of basic preventative care including spay or neuter, vaccines (including Rabies and virals), heartworm tests and preventative for dogs, FeLV/FIV tests for cats, in addition to extra medical care the animal may need, such as heartworm treatment, dental, or surgery. Often our adoption fees do not even cover costs for basic medical care the animals need, and are certainly cheaper than if all these procedures were covered by the owner.
Humane Tomorrow reserves the right to deny any application for any reason.
