Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Gray/brown/black tabby & white, short hair, female, born approx. 1/1/16, #14357
Cats: does well Dogs: unknown Children: comfortable
BACKGROUND: Selma first came to The Rescue House as a young mother with kittens. She found a home where she was doted on for years, but a change in her guardians’ life circumstances has meant Selma has come back to our care. When she saw the vet, it was discovered that Selma is hyperthyroid; with a simple twice-daily medication, she is stable and doing great! She is looking forward to meeting a new family who can give her the security and love she knows she deserves.
PERSONALITY: Selma is a gem of a kitty. She has the softest fur and is an expert groomer: she spends hours a day cleaning herself and keeping that fur in good order. Selma is keen on interacting with you for both snuggles and playtime. She’ll play fetch! Her favorite toys are large fluffy balls like the type that come on cat trees (and then always fall off); her former guardians called those balls “Rachel” and would laughingly tell Selma “Go get Rachel!” while tossing one for her. Her enthusiasm amps up even more for mealtimes: she is very vocal and will make sure to remind you of when food is due. Selma always wants to cuddle with you and extends her grooming habits to your skin in the place of proper fur. Selma will lie on your chest and burrow her face into your armpit the better to smell you and sleeps with you in bed at night. When she’s getting lots of pets and loving, Selma will even start drooling because she’s so happy. When visitors come over, she warms up quickly and is soon in their laps demanding pets. Selma is truly the sweetest and friendliest cat (forget bathroom privacy). She’s such a beauty while being such a goof!
COMPATIBILITY: Selma does well with other cats once introduced. While it has been years since she met a dog, when she first fostered with us she was okay around a cat-friendly Chihuahua. Selma is comfortable with respectful children of all ages.
Will your life be enriched by the joy and love Selma has to offer?
