My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our number one champ.. Balboa!

Balboa, Adrian, and Adrian’s 4 kittens came to TCR from a home where they weren’t being cared for and were no longer wanted. One of our fosters found out about their situation and that’s when we stepped in!

Balboa isn’t exactly a fighter like his namesake, but definitely has a similar big heart and sweet personality (and just as good looking!) This guy may be a little shy at first, but opens up quickly and turns into a total love bug. Balboa loves attention, pets, and snuggling next to you. He loves to play with toys, especially wand toys, but is also pretty laid back. He likes to spend his time snoozing, cuddling, and watching his much more outgoing girlfriend, Adrian, while she flits around the house following you and being nosey. Balboa is pretty easy to pick up and handle. He loves wet food and will make some sweet meows for it! Balboa is definitely a gentle soul and is dying to find a home of his own. He would love to find that perfect home with Adrian! Balboa would do well with kids and other cats, but Adrian is a little more bossy and high strung, so they may not be the best fit for her, unless the other cat is not a dominant one like she is. We could see Adrian bossing around any dogs, but the pair could probably do well with a calmer dog who will respect their space.

Balboa is about 2.5 years old, neutered, microchipped, FIV/FELV tested negative, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated. If you’re looking for a super sweet Buddy, then Balboa only wants to go the distance…. With you!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
