SERENA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Serena Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and collie mix

Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of January 2025 SEX: Female

Approximate Weight: 50 lbs

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested if you have them.

Currently Living at: Rural shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here!

Serena is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweetie with the awesome eyebrows landed in the shelter through no fault of her own. She's eagerly looking forward to having her own humans again. Long sniffy walks, romps in the park, all those adventures to burn off that awesome young-dog energy - yes, please! She'd also love to go to dog school to show how super smart she is.

What she wants most of all, though, is to know she's safe and loved and under her own roof. To know she's a cherished part of a family. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship and to always put a smile on your face. What do you say? Is Serena the one you see by your side?

What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster.

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
