My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Diska! ðŸ\x90¾
Born on November 14, 2024, and weighing just 7 lbs, Diska is a tiny bundle of energy with a big personality! This adorable shepherd/lab mix is full of curiosity, always exploring her surroundings with her bright eyes and wagging tail. Whether she’s playing with her favorite toys or snuggling up for some cuddle time, Diska is sure to make every moment special.

With her playful nature and sweet demeanor, Diska is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a lively, affectionate pup. Though small now, her big heart and eager-to-please attitude mean she’ll grow into a loyal friend and a fantastic partner in all sorts of adventures.

Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Every pet available for adoption is current on shots spayed/neutered, and microchipped. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Please note that the kennels close for pet viewing at 4:30pm.

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.

The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.

The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
