My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Blue was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on 1/18/2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Introducing Blue! This handsome guy was a little scared at first in our care but this has decreased since he has gotten more used to staff and has been developing positive relationships. New situations or people could cause Blue's fearful nature to come out, so we require that Blue live in a household where any children who live there or frequently visit are at least 10 years old or older. Going slow with Blue will be the best way to gain his trust and help him feel comfy meeting you. Say howdy to Blue at our Escondido campus!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
