My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lady Grey came to Dakin as a stray and has been caring for her kittens in foster care. Now that she's done with motherhood, she's looking forward to being adopted and resuming her pre-motherhood life. Foster mom says that she is gentle, friendly, calm and not demanding. While she isn't a lap cat, she does like to be nearby and comes up to sit next to you. Her foster home consisted of adults and teens and she was fine with them. However, she was wary of the resident animals that she could see through her door. Of course, mom cats are protective of their kittens, so it's hard to say what she would think about being around other pets when she's not preoccupied with her role as a mom. Lady Grey hasn't been into toys because the kids have kept her pretty busy. She has met a number of visitors, men and women of various ages, and seems to prefer adult women. This kitty likes being petted but isn't a fan of being picked up. However, a big plus is that she didn't mind having her nails clipped. You'll save a bundle on pet-i-cures! Lady Grey is now hoping for a home where she can have her own space with people who will love her on her own terms.

If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways:

Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt.

**the below two methods are slower than visiting us**
Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours.

All cat adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies vaccine
-current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-FeLV/FIV blood test
-microchip implanted & registered to the adopter
-treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
