Kal is a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix who is as sweet as his name suggests! This handsome boy can be a little shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he's your best friend for life. Kal loves gentle pets, leisurely walks in the park, and cuddling up on the couch. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will love you unconditionally, Kal is your guy! Lal ha a couple of days to go yet before he can be considered for adoption.

For In-Person Adoptions at the Shelter, visit during open hours. For pets in foster care, apply on that pet at www.multcopets.org

Meet the Pet

At the shelter, adopters will be able to meet a maximum of three (3) pets per visit, with ten (10) minutes per pet.

Take the Pet Home

Adoptions are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Adoptions will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Adopters will not be able to submit applications to adopt animals in advance, or place adoption holds on animals.

Adopters will be able to meet a maximum of three (3) pets per visit, with ten (10) minutes per pet.
We will be unable to assist with pet-to-pet meets. Please keep your furry friends at home, adoptable pets will not be able to meet resident pets at the shelter.
Prepare enough time for your visit. Adopters should expect that it may be up to two (2) hours at the shelter to process an adoption, including meeting pets, an adoption consultation, and waiting periods. Wait times may be significantly longer on weekends.

Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) is the only open door shelter in Portland. We are the primary agency responsible for lost pet care, animal abuse investigations and animal rescue in Multnomah County. We also offer dog and cat licensing, lost and found pet services, and animal adoptions through our shelter in Troutdale. MCAS is a division of the Multnomah County Department of Community Services (DCS).
