My story

Perhaps the sweetest, most loving cat you will ever meet, Summer Rain is finally ready for adoption. A petite long-haired brown and white tabby, Summer Rain continues to slowly gain weight, but the vet guesses that she will never be more than 8 pounds, although her fur makes her appear larger than she actually is.

When GRASP found her last summer, Summer Rain was as near death as any living being could be – lying on the lawn in an urban neighborhood, baking in the hot sun, without food or water, ignored for too long by those passing by. She was rushed off to emergency medical care where no one could believe she was still alive. Then the possible reason she was clinging to life was found, she was pregnant. Summer worked hard to become healthy and eventually gave birth to three beautiful kittens whom she doted over and successfully nursed and nurtured. In fact, Summer may be the ultimate mother and caregiver as she watches over and cares for all the other foster kittens and rarely left her foster mother’s side during her own recent two-week illness.

During those two weeks, Summer slept next to her foster mother and cuddled and purred her to sleep every night. It may have  been the first time she shared a bed with a human, but she’s hooked now! She even tolerates the resident small dog who sleeps in the bed as well.

If you are looking for a low-key, quiet, sweet, lovable cuddler, Summer Rain is your girl - apply to adopt her today!

This cat has been combo-tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, received all age-appropriate vaccinations and is altered.

More about this rescue

G.R.A.S.P. stands for Greece Residents Assisting Stray Pets. GRASP's goal is to give animals, primarily those picked up by Greece Animal Control, a second chance for a safe, happy, and healthy life. Before G.R.A.S.P., Inc. was formed, animals that were not claimed by their owners were routinely euthanized. We also strive to educate the public on the benefits of spay/neuter and the need to tag their pets at all times. G.R.A.S.P., Inc. is a non-profit organization and is completely dependent upon donations from the public.
