Hello, I`m Kova! I`m a 9-month-old little boy and full of love and energy. You`ll often find me kneading away, making biscuits on my favorite blanket. It`s my way of showing contentment and love. I have always been an indoor kitty and really need an indoor only home due to my hip. I have an old injury that is getting better everyday, but I’m not supposed to jump from high places or get into rowdy wrestling matches. I`m very friendly with other cats and I’m not afraid to make the first move with introductions. Adopting me would mean a world of joy, love, and purrs. I promise to fill your home with happiness!

Prospective adopters with approved applications will be contacted to arrange a meeting.

Additional adoption info

Dogs and puppies are $150. Kittens and cats are $80. The adoption fee includes vet exam, first set of vaccines, microchipping, Feline Leukemia test for cats, Heartworm test for dogs. Also, includes rabies vaccine and spay/neuter at appropriate age. A completed and approved adoption application is required before meetings are arranged. The foster home is responsible for approving adoptions.

Adoption fairs are held monthly at PetSmart, Wilkesboro, NC.
Prospective adopters with approved applications will be contacted by the foster homes to arrange meetings.

There is a also a county-run shelter, which is not formally associated with the HSOW, but we pull fosters from there and do all we can to promote adoptions:

The Humane Society of Wilkes is an independent, 501(c)(3), volunteer organization dedicated to reducing the number of homeless, unwanted, and neglected companion animals in Wilkes County, NC. We support pet owners and prospective owners with programs that promote adoption and spay/neuter and services that provide information and resources to the community.

The Humane Society of Wilkes also works closely with Wilkes County Animal Services and local veterinarians to help prevent suffering and improve the quality of life for animals in Wilkes County.
