My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Helen came to us from an owner suffering neurological issues that could no longer care for her. Due to her age, Helen would be a high risk of euthanasia in a shelter, so we stepped in to help. This TEENY TINY 12 year old gal is extremely sweet! Although a senior, her foster mom sates that "she's as energetic as a younger dog; still getting zoomies when you get home."
Although Helen does well with other dogs and cats, she is definitely partial to pick her person! She will follow her person around quite literally EVERYWHERE! There is no such thing as personal space with Helen. Overall Helen is a pretty easy gal, who loves to play, and cuddle. 🥰To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.

Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

More about this rescue

Long Way Home was created to provide the last stop for animals displaced from their homes, deemed "unadoptable" by other rescues, or that need a level of care their previous owners or other shelters are unable or unwilling to provide.
