Meet Donnie, the ultimate "Heinz 57" mix! At 2 years old, this handsome boy may have German Shepherd in his paperwork, but we think there’s a little bit of everything in the mix, making him one unique pup. Donnie's journey has been a rollercoaster—found as a stray in South Carolina, his microchip led back to North Carolina, but sadly, his previous owner chose not to reclaim him. Now, after spending some time in the shelter, Donnie has made his way to New York and is ready to find the loving family he truly deserves.

Donnie is a big sweetheart, weighing in at around 75 lbs, and he has the gentlest soul. He approached everyone in the shelter with soft cries, seeking comfort and reassurance. Now, he's looking for a forever family who will never abandon him again. Donnie is great with people of all ages and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making him the perfect companion for any household.

An application, agreement, personal reference check, vet reference check and home visit are required.

Adoption fees are below. All of our animals are microchipped, up to date on vaccines and fully vetted.

Puppies under 1 year : $495
Adults 1-9 years: $375
Adults 9+ years: $300
Special Needs Animals: dependant on specific animal and his or her needs

ADDITIONAL DEPOSIT of $125 for spay/ neuter for all unaltered dogs unless the spay/neuter

We are located at 46 Sodom Road, Brewster, NY. You can come stop by 7 days a week from 11am-4pm. While we have 15-18 dogs housed at our adoption center, the majority of our dogs are located in private foster homes.

SNARR Northeast Animal Rescue's mission is "Giving Hope to the Hopeless.” SNARR stands for Special Needs Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. We do focus on animals with special needs but we also rescue perfectly healthy dogs as well! SNARR works with municipal shelters all over the country to save animals at risk for being euthanized. Our dogs (and cats) are all in foster homes prior to being adopted.
