My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Teddy

Gender: Male

Age: 8 months-1 year (about)

Current Weight: 34lbs

Expected Adult Size: Medium (25-50lbs)

Breed: Australian Shepherd Mix

Energy Level: Medium-high

Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog

Cat Friendly: Unknown

Kid Friendly: Unknown

Apartment Friendly: No

Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise

Crate Trained: Yes

Potty Trained: Yes

Ideal Home/Adopter: Teddy is the happiest boy. Teddy loves to be with his people and play with dogs. Teddy would love an active home. He does great in a crate during the day while his foster parents are at work, but as he is still young, he has a lot of energy to get out in the evenings. He would love an active home with another playful dog or a yard to run around in. While this is not mandatory for him, if he is the only dog or does not have a fenced in yard, please be aware he will need ways to get out some of his energy. Teddy is very smart and is learning quickly. He is still young and would need an adopter that is willing to continue with typical dog and manners training for young pups.

Likes: Teddy would ask that you have lots of toys for him to play with. Squeaky, fluffy, treat toys, treat puzzles, rawhides, he does not discriminate as he loves them all! He also enjoys playing fetch, going on walks, playing with dogs, playing with people and snow! Oh does he love snow!

Dislikes: We have not found anything he dislikes yet. He can be a little timid at first with new sounds, people and dogs but he warms up very quickly.

Additional Considerations: Teddy was found as a stray in West Virginia. He was taken to a shelter where volunteers reached out to RO for rescue! He was a shelter favorite and we sure can see why. Teddy is the perfect package! He is a perfect mix of playful, goofy puppy but also mostly house, crate and potty trained. He is the sweetest pup who loves all people and dogs. He literally smiles in his sleep.

What makes this dog special: Teddy sleeps in silly positions with a smile on his face. He loves to steal things that smell like you so if your shoes, gloves, hats or socks go missing-go check his favorite spot (most likely on a couch or big fluffy blanket!) Teddy also has the most beautiful unique coloring! It is hard to see in pictures but he is brindle with the softest floofy fur coat. His eyes also stare deep into your soul, and you will give him that treat if you look into his eyes.

Teddy's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.

More about this rescue

RESCUEDohio was founded on August 1, 2015 by a group of dedicated animal lovers in the central Ohio area. The founders came from various different vocational backgrounds, but all have one thing in common: the passion to save dogs. Before starting RESCUEDohio, they were previously involved in different aspects of rescue, including fostering, fundraising, coordinating and training. The mission of this group is to help find homes for unwanted and abandoned dogs and to advocate for the rights of all animals everywhere.
