My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Gizmo, a dog who lives for tennis balls. He is a year old good boy/silly boy mix. He is about 30 lbs of suave and awesomeness and a stunner with his elegant and smooth black coat.
Gizmo is such a people pleaser. If you want to play, he is always ready to play. He LOVES to play with his tennis ball. He likes to fetch balls and knows to drop it next to you so you can throw it. He also likes to play with his toys. He can play rough sometimes that he’ll end up tearing his stuffed toys. Tough toys are highly recommended. If you are tired to play, no worries he can play independently. He knows how to toss his toy and try to catch it. Or if he is on the couch, he would drop his ball to roll and ran after it to do it over again. If you are in the mood for movie night and just chilling, you will find yourself a movie buddy in him. He loves to just lay next to you while you watch. He will lay his head on your legs or put his paw on you. And you might also catch him watching parts of the movie too. Warning: he may ask for some loves and pets every now and then. He knows how to greet visitors. He doesn’t bark at them and he likes their attention too. He would go to each one of them like a politician asking for loves and pets. We had him for New Years with friend and family over and he knows how to behave.
In the morning, Gizmo greets you excitedly when he gets out of his kennel. He can be a little jumpy and be too excited to see you like he hasn’t see you in years. In the backyard, he gets his zoomies out by running from fence to fence. He might pick up a tennis ball or a toy to bite and toss while running. After several laps, he then remembers to potty. He is left outside to eat, run some more and play with his toys. When he gets tired, he either does sunbathing or he sits on the swing to plan on how to be the goodest boy in the world. When he wants to come inside or wants someone to play fetch or tug with him, he waits by the door or whine to call for attention. He lets you wipe his paw and his behind before coming inside the house. When inside, he likes to lay in his spot on the couch with his toy or he follows you around house like a shadow. If you sit, he will sit by you. If you get up, he gets up. He is a loyal and a very sweet dog. He loves to give hugs and kisses. In the afternoon, he likes to go for a walk. He likes to smell all the smells he can smell. He is a curious dog but he is pretty good in leash. While walking, other dogs may bark at him but he just looks at them. At night, he lays back on couch and he loves it when you sit next to him. He might ask you to throw his toys for him to catch. When he is tired and ready to sleep, a treat or two may be required to make him go inside his kennel. Gizmo is a super sweet and affectionate dog and all he wants is to be in a home where is he welcomed and loved. Gizmo is waiting to meet you. Gizmo is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.

Go meet their pets

Life Savers Animal Rescue has no physical shelter. Animals are housed in foster homes, so in order to meet a dog, an online application must first be completed and processed and approved. Then a meet and greet will be arranged. This process may be delayed should there be many applicants for one dog, so your patience is appreciated.
