This helps Humane Society of Terrell County with pet care costs.
Sugar was 99% spice and 1% sugar when she and her sister Reese first came to me. She was so spicy and determined to have no interaction with humans. She growled, hissed and bolted into hiding when any sound or movement was made. Little miss spicy just didn’t realize that I knew her type and had plenty of patience to wait her out. It took a while, along with lots of treats and hours of trust building, but Sugar is now 90% sugar and only 10% spice!! The 10% spice is only visible when something new or unexpected happens. She even lets me pick her up, put her in my lap or snuggle her close to my chest now. Huge, huge progress this amazing girl has made!!!
Sugar adores her sister Reese and has learned to love her other foster siblings. She plays like there is no tomorrow and is an absolute joy to watch. She does not like loud noises and it takes time for her to adjust to any change. However, as long as she has a soft blanket that she can nuzzle herself completely under to hide from the “scary” stuff, she will be fine if you just let her adjust at her own pace. Sugar needs to be in a home with another cat she can play with but ideally, it would be wonderful if she and her sister Reese stayed together. HSTC only charges an additional $25.00 adoption fee when adopting a second kitten - which is a huge incentive to adopt two at one time for only $100.00.
Sugar has a tremendous capacity to love, she just needs the confidence her sister or another kitty her age provides and a very loving, patient human that will let her bloom at her own pace.
