Kalispera (that’s a greeting in my homeland) good people of this wonderful country. I am Odysseus and must apologize for my rather untidy appearance. I have been travelling and unable to maintain my usual regal appearance under less than fortunate circumstances. I may or may not have had a home in the past but I have been trying to find my way home...any home.

Like any seasoned warrior I do not rush to judgement. I will watch you from a safe distance at first to make sure you are a friend and not a foe. But once I see that you mean no harm I will be a loyal loving member of your tribe.

More about this shelter

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
