My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Champ is about 2 years old and last weighed in at 27 lbs. He probably still needs to gain about 5 pounds. He is a beagle mix but he does have long legs.  Champ is a loving and affectionate guy who enjoys being close to his people—he’ll happily snuggle up against your neck for some extra love. He has a medium energy level, so he’s happy to play with toys and go for walks, but also loves to nap and relax. He’s a quick learner and has already learned to sit for his food, proudly giving you a look to show off his accomplishment.

While Champ is mostly house-trained, he’s still working on asking to go outside when he needs to. He has gotten much better about this!

Champ's Ideal Home:

  • A household with another dog would be great, as Champ loves the company of other dogs (he does best with small dogs)
  • Someone who can give him the attention and love he craves
  • A person or family who’s okay with his occasional burst of energy but also enjoys quiet cuddle time

Champ is a happy, sweet boy who can’t wait to find his forever family.   If you would like to meet him, fill out an application on our website.

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
