Meet Chu-Chu, an 8-year-old, 9-pound little bundle of love! Everyone is his friend and kisses is his game. Throw away all your pre-conceptions of Chihuahua’s because this little guy breaks the mold! Cheerful, friendly, cuddly, and not yappy. He is also full of energy, especially when it comes to mealtimes, and of course, wants to be with people all the time. He is housebroken and is getting used to using a doggie door. The best situation for Chu would be a home where someone is home for the majority of the time. He doesn’t really need a doggie sibling, and would probably get along best with other dogs who are more self-contained. A bed and a blanket, a person to cuddle up to, and yummy treats and this little fellow is content.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards.

All of our dogs, cats, rabbits & ferrets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Small animals are usually not altered. We have adoption applications, a short interview process, and an adoption fee for each animal. All animals (except rabbits & small animals) are up to date on all shots.

We hold adoption events on Saturdays at Petsmart in Mishawaka from 11-3. We also hold other events throughout the year. Company Overview
Heartland Small Animal Rescue Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving South Bend, IN and surrounding towns by taking in homeless pets and adopting them out into loving homes. We also work closely with local shelters to reduce euthanasia rates by pulling animals and putting them in our program.
