Animal Profile: Finch is an 12 week old, male Cattle Dog/Chi X (guessing), but they are true "Heinz 57 variety" puppies who will be joining us along with his 3 siblings from Texas on 01/10. Sadly their mom who was a petit 25lb brown Texas dog, was posioned when they were 2 weeks old and the local shelter reached out to our rescue partner for help, who immediately took them in. They were bottle feed and are now thriving and healthy. They are friendly with dogs, cats and kids. These puppies are being raised in a foster home with other animals and small children, and will be great family pets.
Foster Update: Finch is a sweet, cuddly, couch potato. He loves laps and snuggles, and has been an easy work from home companion. He's a smart cookie who loves food and is learning basic commands quickly. He wants to be friends with (literally) everybody. He's excited to meet new friends (people, dogs, cats, etc) and is very polite on walks. He's very excited about the cat in his foster home so a home without cats or a home with dog savy cats might be best. We're still working on potty training and crate training during the day but he sleeps through the night in his crate, perfectly! Due to his puppy behaviour a home with older respectful children will be best.
Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
