My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Sweetie was brought in by her previous owner on January 28, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Sweetie, an adorable girl with a heart full of love! With a smile that has the power to heal the soul, Sweetie is a companion for anyone seeking a loyal and affectionate furry friend. She's a playful pup who loves her toys and her people. She has lived with other small dogs before and would love another buddy. Sweetie enjoys her daily walks to stay happy and healthy. She's a laidback girl and her favorite hobbies are sunbathing and relaxing on her dog bed. Sweetie does have some medical concerns including IBD, mild dental disease, and masses that one of our veterinarians will happily discuss with you. If you're looking for a small dog with a big heart, Sweetie is ready to bring joy and love to your life!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Sweetie is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
