My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ivy, a senior lady with a heart as warm as a summer`s day. Despite her age, Ivy`s spirit is as youthful as ever. She`s a little on the shy side, but don`t let that fool you. Once she warms up to you, Ivy`s sweetness shines brighter than the sun. She`s had a life full of experiences, and now she`s ready to share them with a new family. Ivy has a lot of love to give and is eager to make new memories. Her gentle nature makes her a perfect companion. Adopt Ivy and let her fill your life with joy and love.

Ivy will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We don’t know how she will do with cats.

Ivy is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and ready to go home today!

More about this shelter

West Valley Humane Society is an open-admission animal shelter in Southern Idaho. Serving all of Canyon County, and surrounding areas. We take in the stray, surrendered, abandoned, neglected animals in our community. In 2017, we took in 7,778 animals. We believe that every animal deserves a second chance.

We contract with the cities of Nampa, Caldwell and Canyon County to house stray and owner surrender animals that their ACO's, or the general public, bring to us.
