My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Minnie, a young and vibrant spirit with a heart full of love. Her sweetness is a trait that can melt any heart, while her friendly demeanor is an invitation for a lifetime of companionship. Minnie is a bit shy, but don`t mistake her shyness for a lack of affection. Once she warms up to you, she will shower you with the kind of love that only a true friend can offer. She is a young soul yearning for a place to call home, a family to belong to. Her tender heart and friendly nature are a testament to the fact that she will be a wonderful addition to any family willing to open their doors and hearts to her.

Minnie will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We don’t know how she will do with cats.

Minnie is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and ready to go home today!

More about this shelter

West Valley Humane Society is an open-admission animal shelter in Southern Idaho. Serving all of Canyon County, and surrounding areas. We take in the stray, surrendered, abandoned, neglected animals in our community. In 2017, we took in 7,778 animals. We believe that every animal deserves a second chance.

We contract with the cities of Nampa, Caldwell and Canyon County to house stray and owner surrender animals that their ACO's, or the general public, bring to us.
