Lestat and Anne Rice are a pair of gentle, affectionate couch potatoes who love lounging and keeping you company. Anne will happily sit on your lap for hours, while Lestat prefers perching nearby to observe. Both enjoy relaxing on the couch and are perfect companions for cozy evenings watching TV. Their favorite toy is a feather wand, which brings out their playful side, though their true passion is lounging all day. They have amusingly deep meows and, while they dislike being picked up, they’ll happily jump into your lap for snuggles. They can be adopted together or separately.

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
