Meet Jackson!

8-year-old Jackson is a sweet and fun companion who needs a loving new home because his owner is moving overseas.

A typical day for Jackson including chasing after his squeaky toys and sometimes he brings them back! After breakfast, Jackson is all set for a long walk. Afterward, he’s perfectly happy to relax at home, by his person's side on the sofa or in his cozy bed next to her desk.

Jackson is in good health and house-trained. He has access to a doggie door in his current home and enjoys the freedom to go outside whenever he likes. At night, Jackson curls up in his bed in his person's bedroom and will go outside if he needs to.

Jackson is very fond of his owner's grandchildren and gets excited to see them. However, he does get anxious if they are running around and yelling, so he would likely do best in a calm, loving home with older children who can respect his space.

Due to being attacked previously, Jackson can be a bit anxious around other dogs. He shows signs of nervousness, such as wagging his tail, but may growl if another dog gets too close. He seems to feel more comfortable with dogs his size or smaller. When a golden doodle stayed in his home for six months, Jackson became very attached, so with time, he can feel at ease with a larger dog, too!

More fun facts about Jackson:

* He's great in the car.
* He's a smart cookie who remembers family and friends.
* He has great stamina and plenty of pep, happily going on daily 3-4 mile walks or even longer hikes—up to about 7 ½ miles!
* He’s a fantastic hiking companion, sticking close and not straying off the path.
* He enjoys chasing small, furry squeaky toys.
* He doesn’t like being picked up but is very affectionate and loves attention!

If you’re looking for a fun and loving best friend who will stick by your side and share in your adventures, Jackson might just be the perfect fit for you!
