Foster

Meet Dorito! This 5-year-old, 28-pound mixed breed may have had a rough start, but he’s making incredible progress thanks to his dedicated foster. Found as a terrified stray, Dorito has been slowly learning to trust and is blossoming into a sweet, playful companion.

He loves using the doggy door to take his toys outside, where he entertains himself by tossing them around. He enjoys being brushed, is now taking treats from his foster’s hand, and is gradually getting used to a leash. Dorito is quiet and calm in the home and seems to be house-trained.

This special boy would thrive in a patient, loving home with another dog to help boost his confidence. If you have a gentle heart and a soft spot for a pup who just needs a little extra love, Dorito could be the perfect fit for you!

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.

Adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, health certificate and transportation.

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
