Here's what the humans have to say about me:
They call me Scrappy pappy because I'm the popppop of the twins. Thumbelina and YingYangYokey. Me and my lady Hazel have done a good job raisin' them, But honestly,I'm just a kid myself. I'm not ready to be a career dad. We came here to this camp to get a family vacation, but I'm enjoying the solo R and R while the kids frolic on their own. I'm ready to have exciting adventures for myself and a hooman companion. I'm looking to settle down. Hazel wants to travel. I'm ready to spread my wing and fly - (just between you and me she's kind bossy.) I'm a gentle guy looking for the simple life: Walks, exercise, snacks and a good squeaky toy gets me all kinds of jazzed! Here's what you need to know about me: 53 pounds of Scrapple -that's yummy to sample! ☀️I'm happy like the sun...NOT at all snappy on the run... I like a good squeaker toy, maybe you change my name to Roy. I ain't gonna surprise...I wear no disguise. Just me You see! ☘️Is all you need. Hippity hoppity Snappy little tune Happy i goes I've got no woes Except to leave here And lick your toes!! 🟢 I'm Tolerant of bossy female dogs. And young pups. meet and greets with future companions required. 🟢🌕 I'm Bouncy energy with cats. 🟢 I'm Friendly with people. Volunteer review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Medium energy, easy to hook up, fun filled and ready to live and love!! Come meet this friendly fella he's ready to tell ya you're the one for him! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 53.8 Age: 2yrs 0mths 3wks

Adoption fee includes basic vaccinations, worming, flea treatment, feline-leukemia/FIV test, heartworm test, spay/neuter (done prior to leaving), rabies vaccination and a microchip
There is a contract and all potential adopters meet with adoption counselor to talk about application and make sure pet is good fit with the person and family. A "meet and greet" is required with all family members and the pet prior to finalizing the adoption application. If someone is adopting a dog and has another dog at home, we also require a "meet and greet" for the dogs as well. All animals in the home must be up to date on vaccinations prior to new pet going home. We do not adopt to people who will keep the pet outside exclusively. We may do a home visit either pre or post-adoption. Animals adopted from us are not be sold or given to another person. We verify all information on the adoption application and may deny an application with any false information on it. A follow up call or visit is done on all adoptions within first 30 days of adoption.

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
