Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Frank is a 10-year-old Shepherd mix who’s looking for a calm, loving home to spend his golden years. He’s a perfect medium size at 35 pounds, and while he might be a little shy at first, once Frank settles in, he’s calm, gentle, and incredibly well-behaved.
Frank spent 8 wonderful years with his previous family before life circumstances changed. He’s used to home life and knows how to be a great companion. He sleeps most of the day, can be left alone for up to 9 hours without trouble (as long as tempting snacks are out of reach!), and is eager to please his people. He's playful when engaged, food-motivated, and doesn’t go looking for mischief.
Frank can get anxious with lots of visitors, especially children he doesn’t know, and he may bark or jump when he’s feeling overwhelmed. He’s currently living peacefully with a young child he knows well, but would prefer a quieter home without a lot of unfamiliar kids coming and going. Frank is also working on his leash manners — he tends to bark and pull when he sees strangers on walks.
Frank gets along great with other dogs when he’s allowed to greet them freely and has enjoyed spending time at doggy daycare and boarding facilities. He would do best in a home without cats.
Change can be hard for Frank — but once he feels safe and comfortable, he settles beautifully. He would thrive with a patient, dog-savvy family who will give him the time he needs to adjust.
If you're looking for a loyal, low-key companion who’s past all the puppy nonsense but still loves a little playtime, Frank could be your guy!
Frank is neutered, up to date on vaccines and prevention. His adoption fee includes all his vetting to date as well as a coupon for a free collar from Dubdog Designs. Please apply at mscrescue.org/adopt to meet Frank!
