Story
Benjamin was abandoned at the side of a busy highway on a construction site. He lived there for about a month and was being fed until a foster home could be found. He was very shy and had to be trapped, but he soon turned around. He is very friendly with the fosters dogs both large and small. He is a happy little boy, we are still working on his potty training but he is doing well, he loves to be told he’s a good boy. He is crate trained and treat orientated so that helps. He will make a great companion.

He is ivory with tan spots. They are an unknown mix (Lab? terrier?) and are expected to be between 50-80 pounds given their current size and weight. Demin is about 75 pounds now. They are super cute pups with lots of puppy energy! Story
Winston is a loving, loveable, and energetic adult dog. We adopted him in 2014, when he was <1 year old. Unfortunately, he is protective and doesn't like strangers (particularly in his house). He has nipped "intruders" (mailman, handyman) with his small front teeth (never a full-on mouth bite), so he no longer gets to meet "come-and-go" visitors. When a new person IS introduced to his house (eg an overnight guest), he gets used to them after a period. This usually takes an evening/night of them staying at the house. After that he will be their best friend and is very snuggly and docile. Winston does not like small children, which is why we need to rehome him (baby on the way). However, he does get used to teens well, and when he does warm up to older kids, those kids seem to really enjoy his snuggly nature. Winston gets along very well with his little brother (chihuahua mix). He loves to play (wrestle, chase), and is quite gentle with his brother, even when they're really roughhousing.

Story
Red is a big dog with the heart of a lapdog—he loves nothing more than snuggling up with you. He’s at his goofiest and most adorable when he realizes it’s time for a car ride, always eager to stick his head out the window. Watching his long ears flop in the wind is one of our favorite things. And when he looks up at you with those big, soulful eyes, overflowing with love, it’s impossible not to melt. We rescued Red three years ago from a heartbreaking situation where his previous owner neglected and mistreated him. He was severely underfed and had endured abuse, but we’ve worked hard to give him the happy, loving life he deserves—especially now that he’s a senior. Red needs someone who can give him more time and attention. We’ve worked with a trainer to help manage his food aggression, which we believe is a result of his past experiences. With a newborn, we can’t provide Red with the time and care he needs. He deserves a home where he can get the attention and stability he thrives on.

Story
Tesha is a good dog but has a few issues.  Tesha is incontinent and is unable to control her bladder. She's about 3 years old and is a basset hound breed.  She can be aggressive with any other animals so it is best that she be in a home as an only animal in the home. She is blind in one and has chronic skin issues that will need attention daily. She can be very loving with certain individuals but does not like strange females as all. She has a fun black white and brown spotted coat. Her little tail always wags when she is happy.  She is a very loud barker but is able to be calm in the mornings but can bark at night a lot. She has been fixed and is up to date on all vaccines. We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Appointments can be set up to meet any dog in San Diego. Currently we are unable to do any out-of-state adoptions. If you are interested in a particular dog please FILL OUT an Adoption Application at our website @ http://bajadogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt/adopt and we can schedule you for an appointment to meet with a particular dog if it is available. We do require an application if you are interested in adoption.  If you are interested in potentially adopting please fill out an application at http://bajadogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt/adopt.
