Story
NAME: Nutter   BREED: Beagle cross  AGE: 2 years WEIGHT: 25 pounds   LIKES: He loves to lounge on the couch or hang outside with his people. Loves treats, other dogs, and head scratches. He will lay down and chew a bone or play with a toy independently.    DISLIKES: Going into the crate. Once in the crate he is very quiet and is quick to lay down for a nap.    PERSONALITY TRAITS: A very sweet boy who is very timid and nervous in new spaces. He seems to start warming up to his new people and environment in a day or two. Everyday he will show you a new sign that he is getting comfortable whether it is smiling at you, wagging his tail, or snuggling up on the couch.   He is the classic Beagle escape artist. If there is a gap in the fence he will find it, but once he finds that the fence is secure he is perfectly happy to lounge in the yard.  Very dog and people friendly! He ignores the cats in the house and does not seem to mind them.    POTTY TRAINING STATUS: He is potty trained in his foster home and does give a signal when he wants to go outside.    CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Once he is in the crate he immediately lays down. Does not bark.    EXTRAS/MISC.: Nutter is an old dog at heart. Would thrive with a medium or small dog or a large calmer dog. He likes to run with them but does not seem to play much with other dogs. He is happiest when outside or snuggled up on the couch.   To further inquire about NUTTER, submit an online application, via our website.    https://wigglytails.org   Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how NUTTER will mesh with your lifestyle.    Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.    Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. Story
Frankie is a 1-year-old Beagle/Boxer mix who weighs about 40 pounds. She is an incredibly sweet dog, friendly with people and dogs. She doesn't bark at other dogs and can walk past them and people with no problem. She is spayed and has all her vaccines. My boyfriend and I found her running around Portland late at night on a busy street. We couldn't leave her by herself, so we took her into our care. We tried reaching out to her owner, but he has been unresponsive for over two weeks and has made zero effort to return our texts or calls. My partner and I both work full-time, we want to ensure she goes to a home where people can provide the care and training she deserves. Frankie has separation anxiety. She has never chewed on shoes or furniture, but she does try to get into snacks and food. She will need some leash training and general training, but this should improve as she adjusts to a new environment and new people. Frankie is a smart and sweet cuddle bug who loves the water too.
