Story
Toby is a sweet, VERY loving and loyal boy that is a cuddler and just wants to be wherever you are. He is fearful of men so he will need to be in a woman only home with no young children, he will need a family that will give him the time he needs to settle in and feel secure. He will need to be an only dog as he can get protective of his owner with other dogs. Toby will have to have a VERY secure 6 ft fence, NOT chain link as he is a jumper. He is crate trained and likes to hang out in it sometimes during the day. He is very food motivated but NOT food aggressive. He is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed and micro chipped. Adoption fee: $200 Please submit an application @ southernstaranimalrescue.org Thank You

Story
This sweet girl came to us as a foster until she can find a good home! She loves to play with other dogs and tennis balls especially racquet balls. A good play session in the morning is followed by crashing out for hours napping. She is potty trained and knows basic commands. She would just love a house with other dogs to play with and run around outside.

Story
Meet Sniffer! Sniffer's journey is a heartwarming tale of resilience and hope. This lovable 10-year-old first joined the Frosted Faces family in May 2023 when he was surrendered to Coachella Valley Shelter and faced the risk of euthanasia. With his beagle charm, he was whisked away on several two-week Frosted Flings, where we discovered just how special he truly is. Sniffer proved to be a well-behaved, food-loving, blanket snuggler in a home environment, earning great reviews from his short-term families. Although he found a forever home in September 2023, his life took another unexpected turn, and he was returned to us in May 2024 through no fault of his own. Now back in our care, Sniffer is once again dreaming of a loving, permanent home. In the meantime, he's enjoying the good life of an on-site Frosted Face - being in play groups with his friends, having fun on outings with volunteers, and going on our weekly Sunday hikes. Sniffer is known for appreciating his personal space, and his preference is to let you know when he wants to be petted by booping you with his nose. The longer he knows someone, such as our staff and certain volunteers, he does it more and more. Sniffer needs a patient family to give him time to learn what real love feels like. Sniffer is a great guy to take as your date to public places, as evidenced on a special outing with volunteers and another dog to a local winery. He was perfectly behaved in the car, at the winery, and while mingling with people. His calm demeanor and love for the outdoors, combined with his enthusiasm for snacks, made him an absolute hit! Sniffer went on a two-week Frosted Fling, and his foster family shared what they learned about him: "Sniffer sweetly follows you around the house, is very responsive, and gets so excited when you return home. He is sensitive soul with a heartbreaking past and needs a dedicated, patient human to show him love and care. His fear sometimes gets in the way, but he's trying hard to be the best boy. * He loves head scratches but not his butt, as he gets scared when he can't see your hand. * Food is his favorite, especially dinner time! * He enjoys being outdoors and would love a yard where he can sunbathe, roll in the dirt, and take in nature. * He loves outings to dog-friendly spots like Petco to sniff and people-watch. He's respectful as long as others don't reach out to touch him unexpectedly. * He is comfortable in a crate and willingly goes in when asked kindly. He responds well to gentle commands. * He would enjoy having a small playmate, as he loved to roll around with our puppy! * He prefers leisurely walks, taking his time to sniff and explore. * He's happy to slip his head into his leash and gets excited to go on walks. * He likes to lay on his own bed next to you. * He barks and howls when he needs to go potty. Sniffer is a sweet boy who deserves a loving home where to spend his golden years. With patience, he will bond deeply with his forever family. He just needs someone willing to take a chance on him." Sniffer is ready for his forever home. If you have a beagle-sized spot in your heart for this special boy, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to meet him!

Meet Angie! Angie and Ash (also available for adoption) were abandoned on a property that reportedly was set on fire. Authorities went to the property and discovered the two dogs. Unfortunately, a third dog perished in the fire. Angie and Ash were brought to San Bernardino City Shelter on October 25th, where they were scheduled to be euthanized on November 14th. Fortunately, we were able to rescue both of them, and they became Frosted Faces on November 12th. Angie and Ash live in our lobby (with a special group of Frosted Faces affectionately known as lobbyists) where they enjoy lots of attention and are most often found cuddling together on a big comfy dog bed. They love each other SO much, are great with other dogs, and love people, too! You will not find a pair more devoted to each other. They are so sweet! Angie and Ash are currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn what they are like in a home and use that information to place them with a wonderful forever family - just like they deserve! Their Fling Mom reports they settled right in - after a short walk around the block, Ash and Angie curled up together to take a nap. She notes: "While they’re a bonded pair, each has their own unique personality. Angie is our little curious explorer, always sniffing around and getting into everything (we dare say she’s a bit nosey!) Ash, on the other hand, is the laid-back bro who just loves to go with the flow. There’s nothing better than snuggling with these two cuties in front of a movie! Angie & Ash are the perfect couch companions, bringing all the warmth and love to a cozy night at home." Check back for the next update from their Fling! Unfortunately, a third dog had perished in the fire. Ash and Angie were taken to San Bernardino City Shelter, and they became Frosted Faces together on November 12th. Ash is about 10 years old and weighs 35 lbs. Ash has paralysis of his hind end likely caused by decreased intervertebral space and noticeable bone changes at the area where the thoracic and lumbar spine meet, causing a forward curvature. The good news is that Ash took to his wheelchair immediately and is already a pro! Ash does great on our weekly FFF hikes! He loves being by his bestie's side, and he has learned that the extra effort going uphill means big fun going down! This sweet boy is one tough cookie, and every volunteer that walks with him finds his determination and can-do spirit so inspiring. Story
Meet Snoopy Doo! Snoopy Doo entered Pasadena Humane Society as a stray and wasn't claimed. We scooped him up on November 30th to become a Frosted Face. Snoopy Doo is super sweet and friendly, enjoys the company of other dogs, does well with cats, and acts younger than his years. He is such a catch! Snoopy Doo went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn what he is like in a home environment. He earned rave reviews for being an all-around good boy! Here is the full report about Snoopy's Fling Mom: "Snoopy loves everyone! He likes to be in the same room as his humans but not necessarily on their laps. He loves butt scritches, back rubs, and belly rubs. Snoopy will gently paw at you if he wants your attention or pets. It's the cutest thing, and he's the sweetest! We took Snoopy to my husband's office holiday party, and everyone loved him! They commented on how sweet and well-mannered he was. They couldn't get enough of him and gave him so much love which Snoopy welcomed. Snoopy is okay with being picked up to get into the car and on the couch. He had beds in multiple rooms, and while he wanted to be with us on the couch, he was content to sleep in his own bed (in the same room) at bedtime. Snoopy listens well when you instruct him to go to his crate but the door to the crate needs to remain open. He likes to nest in his blankets and pillows. At first, Snoopy was very interested in our cat but before the end of the first week, he had stopped chasing her and they relaxed on the couch together. I think he eventually realized she was part of our family. Snoopy gets very excited during our walks so a harness and a firm grasp of his leash is ideal. He doesn't bark but really likes to say hi (sniff) every dog and human he passes by, so there's some leash pulling but he's really respectful once he gets close enough to sniff. Once he gets his sniffs in, he's good to continue on his walk! We introduced Snoopy to our dog playgroup at the park near us, and he did great! He played and ran around with one of the younger huskies. We also took him to two off-leash parks where he happily ran with the other dogs (Snoopy acts much younger than his years!) He's definitely comfortable around dogs that are larger than him. Ideally, Snoopy's forever family will be an active one and a home where someone will be with him most of the time or is able to take him with them to work or run errands as Snoopy is still working on his anxiety. He was okay being home alone with our pets, but after an hour, he would start barking, but he was not destructive otherwise. Snoopy is tolerant of baths and loves the blow dryer afterwards. Snoopy likes to stick his nose out of the window to sniff during car rides, so a doggie booster seat would be nice for him. Snoopy only had one accident in our apartment and that was on our first night. If Snoopy needed to go outside of our potty schedule, he would let us know by pacing at the door." Snoopy is currently on a second Fling while he waits for his forever home. Might it be with you? To meet this loving and fun boy, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
