With his playful nature, love for fetch, and fondness for chew toys, he’s sure to bring lots of energy and fun to his new family. Anyone looking for a loving, active puppy would be lucky to have him! As much as he loves to play, he also really enjoys cuddling with his person on the couch. He’s been fostered with another puppy and a bigger dog. He does well with both of them. He isn’t overly rough when playing, he likes to hop around a lot and get the zoomies. He has also lived with a cat while being fostered. He just wants to play and would need a cat friend who can set boundaries. He’s been fostered with a 12 year old and is very sweet and cuddly, so we think he would do great with kids of any age. He is crate trained and still working on house training. He does well as long as he is on a consistent schedule. He is still learning his way around a leash and would do best with some more practice. Gibby is a great pup who can not wait to learn and grow with his family! Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org. Story
Sky was found heavily pregnant living on the streets of Texas. Animal control took her to a local kill shelter. The shelter spayed her and left her without her babies :( this poor dog is so depressed and scared of new things. Can you help her trust the world again? She will need an experienced adopter. She is very submissive and prefers to stay in her crate due to fear . With time and patience she will blossom into a dog that trusts again. Aplaceforace.org for application

Story
Emily and her sister Lucy came to us from a very sad situation. Last February we were contacted by a man who was living in his truck. His parents had recently passed, and he had their two beagles living with him. He was doing his best to care for them and himself but knew they couldn't continue living in his truck the way they were. He desperately wanted to keep them as they belonged to his parents but needed to get on his feet first. One of our volunteers graciously offered to privately foster the girls for three months to give him time to find a better situation. Three months turned to six and then eight. In August she found out he was not only still living in his truck but unfortunately had lost his job. Sadly, he ended up surrendering the girls. Our volunteer has several dogs of her own and didn't plan to have the girls as long as she did. After being with her for eight months, it was apparent that they needed a quiet peaceful home instead of a chaotic one with a large pack. The girls were clearly overwhelmed in a home with so many dogs so she asked for help from the rescue. Emily is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She loves to get into the flower gardens to find a good resting place, smooshing a flower or two along the way. She loves to be outside and sunbathe in nice warm weather. When inside she enjoys a comfortable dog bed. She loves people, especially those that give ear and butt rubs! Emily is a sweet, affectionate senior who would love to share your couch and bed. Emily being fostered north of Boston. Unfortunately, Lucy has crossed the rainbow bridge.
