Story
Lady Lady is a Female Beagle/Boxer Mix DOB: August of 2021 Adoption fee: $150.00 I currently weigh around 40 pounds, I could use to gain a little weight, but I am a very nice size for those wanting a smaller/to medium size companion. I am playful and loving but unfortunately, I have tested light positive for heartworm. I am currently looking for a foster home or foster with the intent to adopt until I have completed my treatment. Not much information came with me when I arrived at the shelter except, my owners could no longer care for me, and very little vetting was provided while in their care. I have had at least one litter of puppies, but I am now spayed, and I feel so much better. I would do best with a physically fenced yard (I may require it). I walk well on a leash, and I appear to be house-trained. Pending a meet and greet, I may match with another dog. I have not been tested with cats yet but can be with an approved application. I would do my best with children 10 yrs. and older. I will make a great companion for the right situation.

Name: Thor Breed Guess: Beagle/Basset mix Age: 9 years old Gender: Neutered Male Weight: 50 pounds Requires fenced in yard: no Shelter Temperament: Sweet & Friendly Children: Unknown Cats: Can test upon request Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $300 Likes: Thor is new to us so we are still learning about him; please check back for updates soon! The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Are you ready to welcome the chubbiest, most lovable furball into your life? I'm Chubbs, and I'm all about the snacks! I'll do just about anything for a tasty treat, and I'm always up for a snack negotiation. But don't worry, I know how to balance it out with some extra strolls around the block (or two) to keep my figure in check! Besides snacks, I absolutely love kids and cuddles. Family movie nights are my favorite—I'll cozy up with you and the kiddos, sharing some popcorn (just a little, I promise!). I'm the perfect buddy for snuggles and playtime, making every moment together extra special. I have met some other dogs in the past and have been content to hang out with another pup, but I’m not too keen on contact sports or rough play—I'd much rather chill and enjoy a tasty snack! Also, I can be a bit vocal at times when I play or when I get a little overly excited, I am a Beagle after all. And here’s the icing on the cake (or should I say, the frosting on the pupcake?): I’m the sweetest boy around! I love making new friends everywhere I go, spreading my charm like sprinkles on a sundae! Think you can handle the cuteness overload, snack negotiations, and endless cuddles? Then we might be the perfect match! Submit an application at the MAS website below, I can't wait to explore a whole new delicious, cuddly, and healthy adventure together! DOB: 2/2/2020 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physically fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Jack, a year old male Beagle, who will win your heart over. Jack loves everyone, he will gently put his paws on you to get closer, will snuggle with you if you let him, and loves with his WHOLE heart. Jack was a surrendered hunting dog at 9 months old. He has spent the last 3 months in foster care being treated for heartworm. He is heartworm free and ready to get out and do things! Jack is definitely still a puppy, learning how to navigate living in a home. We found it beneficial to use his harness and leash along with positive praise and treats to curb unwanted behavior.   Jack is looking forward to having a job that will use his energy. Maybe a jogging companion, a walking companion, a gardening buddy, who knows. He loves the outdoors. He would love to have a home with a fence so he could run and be safe. He loved the neighbor boy, and all adults he’s interacted with.   Jack is brave. He isn’t worried about thunder, screams (yes, I screamed when there was a spider on me), or vacuums.   Jack doesn’t like to be left by those he loves, which is everybody. He will howl for a few seconds, and stop if you distract him - treat, toy, positive and excited voice. When left alone, he is currently being medicated, crated, and has a foster dog who is nearby. This helps with his feelings of abandonment.  So we do recommend another dog in the home with him. We all are hopeful that now that he is allowed to exercise that he will expend his energy and that he can find a home that has a lot of activity and a dog pal. Jack likes cats, but will chase cats that run. So introductions will need to be thought out and monitored.    We think Jack is super smart, willing to please, and absolutely adorable. We hope you do too! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All animal breeds and ages are a best estimate August 15, 2024, 1:13 pm

Story
I rescued Daisy Mae in October of 2023 in Flint. She’s about a year and a half (maybe closer to 2) as the previous owner told me she had a litter not too long before I got her. Unfortunately, my living situation is no longer steady and I’m struggling to take proper care of her. Daisy’s very much a companion dog, never not at my side, loves to cuddle, play with her rubber bones and can run around outside all day long. She is very sweet and chill when she wants to be but I do take her on multiple walks a day. Because she is a rescue, she has some troubles with adult males and a bit shy with anyone new but with little time and care she will become very close and loyal to any and everyone.
