Story
Age: 10 years Weight: 30lbs Good with dogs? Would like to be the only dog Good with cats? No Good with kids? No Energy Level: Moderate Adoption Fee: $200.00 Any other info: Meet Bo. This sweet senior boy has found himself sitting in a scary shelter at the age of 10 and he's not loving it. He was adopted from us as a puppy 10 years ago but unfortunately was just recently returned. Bo is a sweet boy but he does not do well with strangers in his home so he's looking for a low traffic home with someone to love him for the rest of his days. His previous owners said Bo was a perfect dog 99% of the time but he gets very worked up into a frenzy when people come to the house and acts out. He can be very fearful of new people and other animals. Bo would love to be in a calmer home. Being afraid of strangers and other animals makes living his life in a shelter pretty difficult. He would love to be someone's baby and best friend. Bo is a very distinguished gentleman with sweet soulful eyes, a super adorable scruffy face and a happy smile. He is very sweet when you go slow with him and once he knows he is safe with you, he is a friendly, affectionate, cuddle bug of a boy. The shelter is no place for a senior so please help us help him! Share his story far and wide. We know there is the perfect home out there for Bo and we won't stop until we find them. He is house trained and potty trained and food is the way to his heart, although he's too nervous to eat much right now. Bo is 10 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and kept on prevention here with us. He will also be starting some medications for anxiety to help him get through this stressful time and he should probably stay on them for the rest of his life to help his transition. If you have the perfect low traffic home and are looking for a sweet senior boy in need of a family, don't wait, please apply through the link below. https://form.jotform.com/201977724595065 Once your application is processed and approved, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule an in person meet and greet with Bo. ------------------------------------------------ Our adoption fees include the pets spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, heartworm/tick disease testing and fecal check. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hello! I’m Tanbo (now named Snoop). I was adopted from Last Day Dog Rescue as a pup and now see myself back here due to family issues. I’m a very inquisitive pup and like to find my way into many things, but I’m learning that I’m not allowed to do so.  Anything to do with treats and I’ll be right there with you, but if you have your own food, I may sniff it. I really like to play with toys. As long as the toys are not stuffed, we won’t have a mess. I shred them within minutes, so harder chews would be best. I like to go for walks, I’m leash trained with slight pulling but I’m learning how not to do that. While we are out on our walks, I like to sniff everything I can because it’s all so interesting to me. After our long walks I like to curl up on the couch next to my humans and sleep. I enjoy being under the covers with them as well! When meeting new people, I do bark. Once I get to know them, I’m fine. I do get along with other dogs, I just bark a lot. However, I also resource guard my toys, so being an only dog may be best for me. I do chase cats, so I might not be the best with them. My current humans think I may have some separation anxiety, so for now I will have to be in a crate until I calm down and learn they will come back. I was just recently diagnosed with Cushing’s disease so I will be medicated for the rest of my life, but that doesn’t make me any different to love. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 15, 2024, 9:15 am

Story
Hunter is a 9 yr old retired rabbit hunter that has fully left his hunting life behind and completely adapted to house life. There are endless great things to say about him! He is calm and gentle and loves cuddling. Hunter would like a home that will let him sleep in bed with them and relax on the couch while they watch TV. Hunter has learned potty training extremely quickly! He is very submissive and great with other dogs and gentle with cats. He’s not excitable nor high energy but he is happy and friendly. He will quietly stay in a crate, but wouldn’t need to as he’s such a gentleman in the house. Hunter is neutered, UTD on all vaccines, UTD on deworming and flea preventative, heartworm negative, and is microchipped. During hunters neuter, the vets found he has a grade 3 heart murmur. He has since received a full echocardiogram by a board certified cardiologist who confirmed evidence of early heart disease. Hunter is not currently symptomatic, nor did the cardiologist believe he requires any treatment at this time. They did suggest he stay on a healthy diet and be checked again in a year or so. His adoption fee is $250.

Story
4 yr old Ollie is looking for a home that will love him forever. He is a happy, friendly and playful dude and would love a family that will offer him a yard to play in and lots of toys. He is a good boy in his crate when needed, but he would love an active family that will take him on walks and adventures. Ollie’s first two owners gave him up due to no fault of his own; his first owner’s living situation changed and his second owner had a child whose health declined and made it necessary to give him up so they could focus on the child. Ollie is friendly and silly and loves to chew on antlers and nylabones. He does enjoy being active and can even pull a little on the leash! He is potty trained and crate trained, and he is friendly towards cats. He is currently in foster with multiple other dogs and he is mostly fine with that, but he doesn’t like to share his toys with other dogs so I think he would prefer to be an only dog. Ollie was previously obese but is steadily losing weight by simply being fed the proper amount of food. Our vet believes he will continue to lose weight with continued proper feeding. He has had current bloodwork including a thyroid panel to rule out any underlying issues which all came back normal. He requires an adopter who can acknowledge and accept that his current weight is unhealthy as well as commit to feeding him the proper amount so he can become healthy again and live a long life. Ollie is neutered, HW negative, up to date on vaccines and deworming, flea/tick preventative, and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This adorable little dude is Coke aka Sheldon.  Coke was returned to the rescue at no fault of his.  He is a happy little guy that obviously loves the camera!     HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter .&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collars with tags should they get lost.
